Text Analysis: A Quiet Place
This is my video analysis for The Quiet Place
Intro
The movie is called "The Quiet Place" from the year 2018 and it shows an apocalypse in an abandoned city where there is a famiily trying to survive. It uses multiples of "static" camera movement to show that there is not much going on and some "tracking" to show some of the sign languages they are using and to show that they cannot make any sound. The movie also uses some sounds like wind blowing, news paper being blown by the wind, suspensful msuci and mostly no sound to show that no one is around.
The director wants the audience to feel more pressured so they used some edits on the scene's atmosphere and made the colour darker inside the room to show that the room has no light. But outside of the building, the lighting turns brighter to show that it's hot. The director puts minimum music to make the audience focus on the situation in the scenes.
